God Will Be With You

Often, we ask why God lets hard things happen in our lives. People abandon us, and sometimes we think God will leave us too.
But we must remember that, unlike others, God will never leave or forsake us.
In Genesis 26:3, God tells Issac that he will be a foreigner in the land he enters, but that he and his family will be blessed and given land that He promised Abraham.
Do we feel like aliens sometimes too? Do we feel like we are alone and out of place?
It is important to remember that God will always be with us. He will sustain us in these foreign places because He is with us wherever we go.
We see this demonstrated in multiple places in the Bible.
We see this in the Old Testament in Exodus 4:12, God tells Moses that He will guide Him with what he says. Moses had to go wherever God took him and trust Him wholly.
Do we believe that God is there when we don't feel Him? The answer is yes, He is with us. We need to lean on God and trust that He will lead us in the right direction. He is both our teacher and our guide in this life.
In Deuteronomy 31:23, God told Joshua to be strong and courageous. God told him that He would lead the Israelites to the promised land and would always be with him.
We need to believe that if we lean on God and ask for His strength, we will be able to be strong and courageous just like Joshua was. We will stop worrying about the future because we know that it is in God's hands.
In Isaiah 41:10, God assured Israel of His help and that He was with them always. He told them that He would walk with them as a people.
God tells us that He is our God, our strength, and our help in times of need. He will hold us in the palm of His hand and help us in every area of our lives.
The question is, are we receiving His help?
We also see God demonstrate how He will always be with us in the New Testament.
In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus sends out His followers into the world, telling them to make disciples of all nations.
We are always worthy in the eyes of God. Even when we feel shy and like we fall short of His glory, He will always sustain us and be with us forever.
In John 14:16-17, Jesus leaves His followers with the Holy Spirit. The Spirit abides within us and is our Guide. Do we believe in the promises of Christ? If we know that the Spirit abides in us in all circumstances, what do we have to be afraid of?
Let us hold onto God and trust that He has our future in His hands.
Dear God,
Sometimes I feel hopeless because I know that I don't have control over anything in my life. I often feel lost and alone. I pray that I learn to lean on you for strength and follow you wherever you lead me because I know that you have a plan for me.
In Jesus' name,
Amen
